KIZ Represents at Georgia State Leadership Conference
Members of the Kappa Iota Zeta Chapter were in full force at the Georgia State Leadership Conference in March in Macon.
Soror Haroldine Crowder was elected as State Tamias at the conference. The chapter also received a Chapter of the Year award for its work throughout the year.
The conference was held jointly with Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. at the Crowne Plaza Hotel.
New Hall of Fame Members
KIZ Sorors Mae Bell Echols and Eleanor Strozier will be inducted into the Kappa Iota Zeta/Epsilon Zeta Hall of Fame during the Hall of Fame Luncheon on Saturday, March 30, 2002 at the Atlanta Airport Hilton.
The Hall of Fame Luncheon serves as the chapters' culmination of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority's Finer Womanhood Month.
Grand Basileus speaks at Founders Day Celebration
International Grand Basileus Soror Dr. Barbara West Carpenter was the keynote speaker at the 2002 Founders Day Celebration Weekend, January 19-21, 2002, for the metro Atlanta graduate chapters of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority Inc. and Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc.
During the luncheon, the chapters presented the Inaugural Dove Award to Hosea Feed the Hungry and Homeless for their efforts to help those in need in Atlanta.
In addition, the chapters celebrated with the collegiate chapters at a church service on Sunday and at a community-service project with HFHH on Monday.
Four KIZ Members serve on National Board
Four members
of the Kappa Iota Zeta Chapter are now serving in national capacities with
the sorority.
Soror Yovanda
L. Deason, KIZ Basileus, was elected as the Graduate to the National
Executive Board during Boule' in July 2000.
Sorors Tonya
Cook and Shaneesa Ashford were appointed to the National Public
Relations and Marketing Task Force by Grand Basileus Barbara Carpenter.
Soror Linda
Isabel was also appointed as the Southern Region Representative for
the National Pan-Hellenic Council by Soror Carpenter.
