Kappa
Iota Zeta's Programs
The Kappa Iota Zeta Chapter has several
programs and activities it sponsors.
Stork's Nest Blitz
Each year, the metropolitan chapters
sponsor a Stork's Nest Blitz as part of its efforts to make a difference
in the community and in conjunction with national guidelines. The program,
partnered with the March of Dimes, is designed to increase the number of
women receiving early and regular prenatal care.
Little Miss Blue Revue
The Little Miss Blue Revue pageant
is a cultural activity for girls ages 4-10. The pageant also serves as
a fundraiser for the chapter.
Soror Zora Neale Hurston, Author
A Tea with Z
In celebration of Black History Month,
the chapter sponsors "A Tea with Z," in honor of author and Soror Zora
Neale Hurston. Soror Hurston is remembered for her role as an essayist,
playwright and anthropologist. Her classic novel, "Their Eyes Were Watching
God," still serves as an important study into African-American Southern
Culture.
Healthy and Wise
This year, the chapter sponsored
a seminar on health and fitness, "Healthy and Wise: Taking the First Step
to Better Overall Health." The seminar is designed to help those individuals
who are ready to begin a fitness program, and provides them with valuable
information on fitness, nutrition and stress reduction.
