"Jesus is Lord" Unfortunately, not much has changed. God’s church today is a varied collection of many different denominations, groups, beliefs and doctrines. Many of them look at each other with a certain amount of distrust. Sadly, some look at one another with contempt. To talk about our Lord in a group of people invites debate, judgments, and sometimes distancing between the parties involved. Each one of us is an equal and important part of the Body of Christ! When our theology and denominational differences keep us from interacting, the entire Church is weakened. This topic is spoken about in Luke 11:17: “ . . . Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation, and a house divided against a house falls.” In the surrounding text of this passage in Luke, the reference is to Satan and his kingdom. It is my opinion that this same thing applies to God’s Church. It just makes sense that until we learn to function as one body, we will continue to be a fragmented and weak force in this world. The Church seeks gifts and power but ignores the basis on which these things must be built. The goal of this newsletter is to provide the body with a place to share anything that has to do with the Kingdom of God. It is my intention to provide a forum for diversified beliefs. My main emphasis will always be, “What does it say in the Bible?” "Your input is welcome and encouraged" (whether you agree with me or not..) |

The Editor's Desk by Tina Barnes In December of 2000, the Lord laid it upon my heart to publish this newsletter. When He told me to do it, we were struggling to keep our bills paid and food on the table. The computer we had was great for word processing, but was not suitable for going on the internet or developing a web site. (Not to mention that I knew nothing about how to make a web site.) Yet, I knew I had heard the Lord right even though at the time it seemed to be an impossibility for me to pull off. On Sunday, the pastor's message was: "...if the Lord asks you to do something - no matter how impossible it sounds or how inadequate you may feel - He will provide everything you need to accomplish what He has asked..." By the 10th of January, we had a powerful new computer, a great color printer, and a top of the line scanner. Plus, He also provided web publishing and graphics software. The only thing remaining was for me to learn how to use all of them. It is April and I have learned how to get this page up and on the web. I have a lot left to learn, but I have the best teacher anyone could ever want... "Let everything that has breath praise the Lord." Praise the Lord! Psalm 150:6 |
