"A Man I Knew"

As I looked upon the man, a man I knew, I wondered to myself, why would such a man as this be here in the house of the Lord?

How can he sit here in this place and look unto God.  You see, I know this man.  I've seen his life - our lives have crossed before.  He, of all the people I know, does not live a life that one should live who is seen in a church.

He just sat there, he and his son.  He worshiped with us, he even read from the Bible with us.  But I know this man - surely, he lives a lie, being here in this church with us.

Our time with the Lord was almost over, here in the house of the Lord.  The pastor gave the alter call.  This man, who I had been so quick to judge, together with his young son, were the first two to fall before my God and ask that He come into their lives...

Forgive me Lord, for I am a sinner.
