To say there has been some controversy in this area would be one of the biggest understatements of this century. Many people believe God is again raising up prophets and apostles.  God seems to be talking to many of His people in ways we are not used to. Whenever something is new, our first reaction is usually caution, disbelief, or distrust.  Sometimes this can be a good thing, but not always.  The Bible tells us to listen to two or more prophetic words and then to judge them.  But, we must first "listen" before we are able to "judge".

In Acts 17:10-12, Paul talks about a group of people at Berea who "...were more fair-minded than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness, and searched the Scriptures daily to find out whether these things were so..."

"FRUITCAKE" - a prophetic word

"It is of great importance that along with prophecy, revelations, dreams and visions that there are confirmations or knowledge that the words come from an established source.  This is one of the most difficult things for a prophetic person to learn, yet is essential for our  development.  As we learn to seek the Lord in regards to words we receive we grow in the faith and the knowledge that we can depend upon them coming.  We will learn to rest in our giftings and the knowledge that  they are a life long process, not something that we may loose tomorrow."

"I receive a lot of revelation, words, dreams and visions.  Most are confirmed within two days.  The fact that 90% of them have been confirmed, makes the 10% that are not yet confirmed able to be considered.  It is my first and foremost goal to know the voice of the Lord and to not speak anything until I am satisfied it is truth.  I make it a rule to never speak a word publicly until it has been confirmed.  The Lord understands this about me and goes out of His way to keep me on track.  Sometimes the ways He uses can almost seem comical.  I feel like He must look at me like Thomas when He told him to put his finger on the nail holes."

NOTE:  What I just wrote is very serious and should always remain serious

ALSO NOTE:  This does not mean that God does not have a sense of humor...

Now, for the Fruitcake...

"When reading the following, your first response will probably be that it sounds ridiculous or imagined.  I have to admit that I also felt that way at times.  We had considered it one of the 10% that would not be confirmed.  Yet, the confirmation came 6 months later, before 170 people we had never met before,  in a church 200 miles away from our home, by a pastor who didn't know anything about us."

Shortly after going to bed one night, God spoke to me.  My first response was to laugh.  My husband knows me pretty well and asked what the Lord was saying.  I told him He had showed me He was making him into a "cake - a fruitcake".  My husband asked me what that meant.  I told him God had given me a vision of how He was mixing many ingredients together which would then be baked and aged.  Though strange, the vision made perfect sense.

When I got up in the morning and did some research on the topic of fruitcakes,  I found that there is no other food that takes longer to make than a good fruitcake.  Many of the individual ingredients have long preparation processes themselves and it takes a lot of effort to mix.  It has to bake for quite a while in a hot oven in the same way we are refined by the fire.  Then it has to be aged for up to a year in the cupboard with a towel draped over it.  The aging process requires pouring brandy over it while it rests under a covering - in a way similar to having the Spirit of God poured over us as we are taught and learn to rest in the Lord.  If it is served too soon, it is not nearly as good as it should be.  Also, the cost of the ingredients is quite high.  I had never thought that much about a fruitcake before.

My husband and I have both been called to the ministry.  The Lord sent me out rather abruptly, but seemed to be taking a totally different approach with my husband.  The aging process the fruitcake was going through was a very good illustration of the aging my husband is going through.  He too seems to be under the Lord's shelter and removed from sight, yet the Lord was soaking him with his Spirit quite often.

Imagine our shock when we attend a church 200 miles away from our home and the pastor gets a word from the Lord near the end of service.  He suddenly stops what he is saying, almost in mid-sentence, and states that the Lord had just told him that He was making several of the people in attendance into "cakes - fruitcakes".  He even used both words as the Lord had done when He first told me.  I gasped out loud, then shared the word the Lord had given us with a few people around us.

The Lord will make a way for us if we will let Him.

It is up to us to believe!

If the Lord is sharing dreams, visions, prophetic words, or revelations with you, you are invited to submit them to us for inclusion in future issues.  Please include scripture verses when possible and any confirmations you have received.  We believe the Holy Spirit is talking to many of His children.  We anticipate even the words submitted will confirm each other as it is the same Spirit.

God bless..

to submit post to:  Prophetic Pages

While we cannot guarantee that every prophetic word submitted will be posted, they will be reviewed.  We have found that the Holy Spirit will reveal the same Word to numerous people at the same time.  We firmly believe that the Lord will reveal to us what He is saying to the church.  It is up to us to listen.

Remember the scripture found in 1 Corinthians 14:29

Let two or three prophets speak, and let the others judge.
