The other night, I had decided to take a nice bath and read the Bible. As I was just starting to open it, I heard the Lord say the following: “I will destroy, I will utterly destroy, in all My Holy Mountain, I will destroy”. It
sort of took me by surprise. I
asked the Lord what He meant by it and He showed me that it didn’t
mean what a person might first think it would mean.
He showed me that by “destroying”, He was referring to
destroying those things in us that didn’t belong in His Holy Mountain.
These were things like unforgiveness, anger, lust, hate, etc. In the process of making us Holy, these things must be removed from us,
Christ’s body, completely, once and for all.
That’s not to say it will be an easy or a pleasant process. Over the last two years, the Lord has shown me the shaking
taking place in His Body. He
has shown me that the plumb line spoken of in Amos 7:17 has been set. He shows me that He will literally turn the world, as we know
it upside down as you would an egg timer.
He shows me that He intends to purge His body of our sinful
natures in the same way a person’s body would attack and destroy an
invading bacteria or infection. He
tells us this now so that we will know Him at His coming and we will
find our refuge and peace beneath His Wings as in Psalms 91.
(word received April, 2001) Passages
that speak of “Holy Mountain” (nkj) Psalm 48:1 Great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised, In the city of our God, in his Holy Mountain. Isaiah 11:9 They shall not hurt nor destroy in all my Holy Mountain; for the earth shall be full of the knowledge of the Lord, as the waters cover the sea. Isaiah 27:13 So it shall be in that day: The great trumpet shall be blown; They will come, who are about to perish in the land of Assyria, and they who were outcasts in the land of Egypt; and they shall worship the Lord in the holy mount at Jerusalem. (mount is mountain in American Standard) Isaiah 30:29 You shall have a song as in the night when a holy festival is kept, and gladness of heart as when one goes with a flute, to come unto the mountain of the Lord, to the Mighty One of Israel (Mighty One is Rock in American Standard) Isaiah 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: Their burnt-offerings and their sacrifices will be accepted on My altar; for my house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations. Isaiah 57:13 When you cry out, Let your collection of idols deliver you. But the wind will carry them all away, A breath shall take them. But he who puts his trust in Me shall possess the land, and shall inherit My holy mountain. Isaiah 65:11 But you are those who forsake the Lord, Who forget my Holy Mountain, Who prepare a table for Gad, and furnish a drink offering for Meni. (Gad is Fortune and Meni is unto destiny in American Standard) Isaiah 65:25 The wolf and the lamb shall feed together, and the lion shall eat straw like the ox; and dust shall be the serpent’s food. They shall not hurt nor destroy in all My holy mountain, says the Lord. Isaiah 66:20 Then they shall bring all your brethren for an offering to the Lord out of all nations, on horses, and in chariots, and in litters, on mules, and upon camels, to My holy mountain, Jerusalem, says the Lord, “as the children of Israel bring an offering in a clean vessel into the house of the Lord. (Read Isaiah 66:22-24 also) Ezekiel 20:40 For on My holy mountain, in the mountain of the height of Israel, says the Lord God, here all the house of Israel, all of them in the land: shall serve Me; there I will accept them, and there I will require your offerings, and the first-fruits of your sacrifices, together with all your holy things. Ezekiel 28:14 You were the anointed cherub that covers: and I established you: You were on the holy mountain of God; You walked back and forth in the midst of the fiery stones. **
I find the above verse most interesting. If you read the entire
28th chapter of Ezekiel (especially verses 11-19), you find reference to
Lucifer being cast out of the mountain of God. Ezekiel 28:16 “By the abundance of your trading you became filled with violence within, and you sinned: therefore I cast you as a profane thing out of the mountain of God; and I destroyed you, O covering cherub, from the midst of the fiery stones. Ezekiel 43:12 This is the law of the temple: The whole area surrounding the mountaintop is most holy. Behold, this is the law of the temple. (are we not the temple of the Lord) Daniel 9:16 O Lord, according to all Your righteousness, I pray, let your anger and Your fury be turned away from Your city Jerusalem, Your holy mountain; because for our sins, and for the iniquities of our fathers, Jerusalem and Your people are a reproach to all those about us. Daniel 9:20 Now while I was speaking, praying, and confessing my sin and the sin of my people Israel, and presenting my supplication before the Lord my God for the holy mountain of my God; Daniel 11:45 And he shall plant the tents of his palace between the sea and the glorious holy mountain; yet he shall come to his end, and no one will help him. (you must read this in context to understand it correctly) Joel 2:1 Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in My holy mountain! Let all the inhabitants of the land tremble; For the day of the Lord is coming, for it is at hand; Joel 3:17 So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, dwelling in Zion My holy mountain. Then Jerusalem shall be holy, and no aliens shall ever pass through her again. (aliens is strangers in American Standard) Obadiah 16 For as ye drank upon My holy mountain, so shall all the nations drink continually; Yes, they shall drink, and swallow, and they shall be as though they had never been. Zephaniah 3:11 In that day you shall not be shamed for all your deeds in which you transgressed against Me; For then I will take away from your midst those who rejoice in your pride and you shall no longer be haughty in My holy mountain. Zechariah 8:3 Thus says the Lord: I will return to Zion, and dwell in the midst of Jerusalem. Jerusalem shall be called The City of Truth, the Mountain of the Lord of hosts, The Holy Mountain. Revelation 21:10 And he carried me away in the Spirit to a great and high mountain and showed me the great city, the holy Jerusalem, descending out of heaven from God. When I heard the Lord give me the interpretation of the Words He spoke, I had not studied the subject "Holy Mountain" before. Granted, I had read most all of the above scriptures at least once, but I had never focused on these particular words. He has been speaking to me at length about the same subject, but in other ways. When I started writing this article, I had not yet looked up the above scriptures, I just knew the word was of from the Lord and that it was important. The scriptures speak for themselves. The Lord has shown me that we are His Holy Mountain. We are the temple of the Lord. The Lord is about to purify His temple!
