The Religion of The Goddess

Ok, this is kind of a very delicate subject for me here. Religion is something that I consider very personal, yet at the same time the world is filled with so much misconceptions of what Wicca or Witchcraft should be and is. So most Wiccans speak out at any chance they get to voice out these misconceptions. This is going to be a very long text, but if you are interested in learing the reality of this religion instead of going along of what people say then read on...

These are a few things that one should know about the Wiccan religion; we worship nature and take care of it, because it's a part of ourselves. Our deities are the God and the Goddess. We use magick, it's not a supernatural power, and it is found within each and every one of us. We are NOT evil devilworshipers who cast evil spells on people using animal and/or human sacrafice. Why? well simple, the devil is a judeo-christian deity not a wiccan one, how can we worship something that isn't ours? Second, Wiccans (witches) don't cast evil spells on people because it goes against or Wiccan Rede "An' it harm none, do what thou wilt". Casting "evil" spells is a direct violation to this Rede a true wiccan would never cause harm because of the consequences that it holds.

There is no sacraficing of any living being, because Wicca embraces life and celebrates every breathe we take. Many people misconcieve Wicca, by the fact that our main religious emblem is the pentagram (pentacle) and use this, along with the ignorant concepts mentioned above, to call us satanists, this is the meaning of the pentagram. The pentagram is a 5-pointed star that represents the 5 elements of life, Earth, Water, Air, Fire & Spirit, the upright pentagram puts Spirt among the material. Satanic worshipers use it inverted because they put the material above the Spirit. I have also heard that it doesn't matter if the pentagram is upright or not, that it means the same thing. Well, let me tell you this satanists also use the inverted cross...is that the same thing as an upright cross? i didn't think so...
