OK, so this lil section is dedicated to Deftones my favorite band ever...well after Nirvana (but that's another story). Here are my resons why...
Well it all began one average day in my junior year at high school fighting w/my buddies Luis & Fransisco, as usual i'm trying to steal Kurt pics from Fransisco's notebook. So Luis looks into his bookbag and pulls out a tape w/a bunch of bands. "Listen to this my child, and increase ur knowledge in rock". After a well deserved cigarrette, I get my ass home and pop the tape in my stereo.
The first song that I heard form the tape was BORED, I was blown away, I just had to know who they were. Next day, I grabbed Luis by his uniform sweater and asked him who they were "Deftones child". So the next day he came with the recently released Around The Fur cd for my listening pleasure. I was so amazed it was so beautiful...they were so wonderful...AND THEY STILL FUCKING ARE!!!!
There music means so much to me! Every song has a special meaning to all the fans, some shallow asshole might say that there is no true meaning to the songs but there is, you just have to dig deeper.
Although all their songs are great a few stand out in my mind more:
Lifter, Birthmark, One Weak, Fireal, Be Quiet & Drive (Far Away), Mascara, Dai The Flu, MX, Around The fur, RX Queen, Digital Bath, Pink Maggit, Passenger.
