Guru-Disciple Relationship
I
The relation between The Guru and disciple is very delicate.
It is not easy thing to own the guru. These days we hear that
every body has a guru without understanding the real meaning of Guru. And relationship the discpile has with his guru. In todays
sceneriao we are making Guru for getting material gains only.
The Guru is considered good if he fullfills all our wishes other
wise we disown him. This is very shocking that before going under this obligation we should firstly prepare our selves and should understand the true meaning of the word Guru.Which perhaps most
of us forget to do. It is not a word or a mass of alphabets it holds the relationship between the darkness and the knowledge of truth .Gu means "darkness" Ru means "light",so the actual meaning of Guru is the person who takes off our ignorance to the
thrush hold of knowledge of bliss.
We should make guru for attaining selfrealization and not for materialistic things. But in todays time no body wants to know
what actually guru means.Having a Guru is now a craze among
people.Every one is saying that he has a guru but does not have
firm belief on his guru.A Guru is person who helps us in changing our life , to realize God,to attain eternity and how to overcome the problems.About 90% of people are not aware of the
relationship between the Guru and disciple which is very delicate. We make Guru only for gaining wordly pleasures. This is the main reason that inspite of having the guru we do not have the real happiness.Because we are not consious of the bliss which our Guru bestown upon us, teaching us how we can live balanced life while contnuing our daily house hold norms.
I have observed in many ashrams that very few people come to seek true salivation. As one could easly feel the race among the few to gain more attention of the guru which proved very scandelous in many cases and hurt the religion in its true sense. They do not realize the harm that they do to our cultural, social, moral and ethical values not only to the particular sect but towards the whole nation. The general trend among the people is to seek solutions for their daily problems, which is quite normal as a human behaviour but one should not make it a habit as he will loss the true path and the love and attention of his Guru. And so
of the God.
It is all our Karmas which are playing with us.We have to eat the fruits whether sweet or sour.It will be benefical for all of us to follow the path which the master has shown us.It is not easy to walk on this path as one faces lots of diffculties and one has to pass through number of tests. And then you can attain that eternal peace for which you were striving.Their are many examples of great saints and sages.Who faced lot of diffculties
but did not left their path and at last they were successfulin reaching their goal.Among these saints Mata Lal Ded is one among them, who has suffered a lot but did not left the path of attaining God & today she is one of the gratest saints of Kashmir. She is also called the centre point, from which all great
saints have evolved.
It is easy to narrate the story of saints who as disciples has gone through many sufferings in order to attain selfrealization. But if one sites an example of a common man,to whome we personally observe and analyze is right thing to do present him as example.Since my Childhood i have seen my father daily visiting his guru and ignoring his parental attention towards us,like most of the fathers do, though he would see to it that proper arrangements were made for us before he would leave.
My father Pt.Moti lal Koul, discple of Great Saint Swami Mast Ram ji Maharaj, has spent his youth with swami ji.During this period my father has seen lot of hardships while maintaning Guru disciple relationship. But for my fathers firm belief on his Guru he stood all his diffculties. He has to face to critisism from his family, relatives, his fellow disciples, but due to his firm belief he marched on the path.
Its now that i understand the true relationship between the
Guru and disciple.I bow before my father/guru for making me understand the spritual aspect of this relationship which goes beyond the viel of life and death.Which stands aloof from emotions.
I request to all of you to understand the real meaning of Guru
and the relationship between the two.So that you will get the maximum benefit from this.
JAI GURU DEV.
