    " EAT TO LIVE AND NOT LIVE TO EAT"

    There are many different kinds of diets but no diet is successful without exercise . Here are some tips to help you diet and give you an idea .

    * Losing weight is a relatively slow process. You will never lose more than 5 pounds a week if your effort is genuine i.e. you're losing fat. So if you are overweight by 200 pounds it will take a year for you to get slim. Unfortunate ? Can't be helped.


    * Eat only half of what is on your plate .

    * Make a habit of eating some celery , carrot or cucumber sticks about half an hour before dinner .

    * Drink a glass of water in the morning ( or hot with a little lemon juice to cleanse body ). Two big glasses, one in midmorning and one in midafternoon, makes you feel full .

    * Don't boil but steamed vegetables more nutritious and tasty .

    * Combine dieting with exercises you'll lose weight faster .

    * Don't fry if you don't want to cry ! Grill , Roast , or Boil !

    * You can have one kind of fruit the whole day. Apples one day watermelon next pears next. Sometimes drink water the whole day. One whole day just eat papaya or pineapple fruits helps to flush the toxins from the body and cleanses your complexion .

    * Big bran muffin for breakfast with no butter, plus coffee and juice. If dying of hunger eat plain popcorn .

    * Juice Fast : Fruit juice in the morning and vegetable juice in after noon .

    * Try eating lots of foods with high water content like lettuce, fruit, vegetables and lot of water that fills you up .


    * Be human. Don't be a yo-yo ! Stick to your weight loss healthy diet for long enough to have noticeable results. Don't give up in a week or two.

    * Regular vigorous exercise helps to speed up the redistribution of your fatty tissue hence is a must .

    * For a slimmer and more attractive and active you, start each meal with soup, grapefruit juice, or lemon juice. They all trigger a natural appetite suppressant and make you feel full sooner. Drink slowly, 20 minutes before a meal. A cup of tea or coffee before a meal, works too.

    You can starve yourself to death, but not slimness so give up. Not eating is simply not a way of losing weight. Seek a good plan to help you with what to do.

    * Eat rice instead of bread and potatoes. Rice makes the appetite drop, while bread and potatoes increase it.

    * Eat carbohydrates diets lower your metabolism. But you can cut down on the amount you actually absorb by eating carbohydrates with a fibrous vegetables. Like cauliflower with noddles will be far less fattening than noodles on their own .

    * Eat fibre before you eat fat. Vegetables and fruit contain a soluble fibre which can stop you absorbing so much fat.

    * Enjoy your life ! Don't get bored. When you get bored, you get sad and when you get sad, you feel stress and when you feel stress, you eat unhealthy and when you eat unhealthy .........

    SWEET TOOTH

    * Curb a sweet tooth by eating something so sweet that it is un- pleasant, for example a saccharine tablet. That should stop you want ing more. Or, you could chew a lemon when you want a sweet. It will ruin the taste of chocolate or a sweet if you then succumb to tempta tion . Drinking lots of water will also cut your craving for sweet things.


    * OBESITY : 3 tsp. Lime juice, 1/2 tsp.black pepper, 1 tsp. honey and 1 cup water. Drink this every morning for 3 months or eat 10 fresh curry leaves every morning for 3 or 4 months or eat tomatoes before breakfast.


    * Eat protein only at the end of a meal. Protein---for example, meat eggs and cottage cheese---stimulates a hormone that stops you feel ing hungry and makes it easier not to eat between meals.

    VITAMIN B

    * B vitamins are also essential for beauty and for preventing wiry or grey hair, furry tongue, puffy ankles, dry skin, bloodshot eyes, patchy skin----all of which are examples of B vitamin deficiency, common among working women, who have a very little time to plan and chart out an ideal diet for themselves. For them, a useful tip : peas, tomatoes, spinach, cauliflower, milk, liver, kidney, wheat ( chappatie ), fish, dark green leafy vegetables, are all potent sources of B vitamin. For quick results, you can boil or bake these items and if you prefer a little spice, make a non-fussy curry with only the basic ingredients like onions, tomatoes, galic .


    VITAMIN D

    Consider the sun as your free beauty bonus. It's your best source of vitamin D, which is vital for healthy skin, teeth and bones. But don't overdo it, or you'll get sunstroke.

    * Your calorie needs vary according to daily physical activities but most women will lose weight on 1,000 calories a day. If possible, carry a pocket calorie counter everywheree with you to check calorie values of everything you eat throughout the day .

    * Don't taste stuff while cooking. Chew sugar-free gum, or nibble on pieces of chopped apple if you're really into it to avoid nibbling a lot of heavy food while cooking.
