Traditional Buddhist Blessing and Healing Chant Just as the soft rains fill the streams, pour into the rivers and join together in the oceans, so may the power of every moment of your goodness flow forth to awaken and heal all beings, Those here now, those gone before, those yet to come. By the power of every moment of your goodness May your heart's wishes be soon fulfilled as completely shining as the bright full moon, as magically as by a wish-fulfilling gem. By the power of every moment of your goodness May all dangers be averted and all disease be gone. May no obstacle come across your way. May you enjoy fulfillment and long life. For all in whose heart dwells respect, who follow the wisdom and compassion, of the Way, May your life prosper in the four blessings of old age, beauty, happiness and strength.
The Auspicious Wish At this very moment, for the peoples and the nations of the earth, may not even the names disease, famine, war and suffering be heard. Rather may their moral conduct, merit, wealth and prosperity increase, and may supreme good fortune and well-being always arise for them .
The Four Immeasurables May all sentient beings enjoy happiness and the root of happiness. May they be free from suffering and the root of suffering. May they not be separated from great happiness free of suffering. May they dwell in great equanimity, free from passion, aggression and prejudice.
As no one desires the slightest suffering nor ever has enough of happiness, there is no difference between myself and others, so let me make others joyfully happy. May those feeble with cold find warmth, and may those oppressed with heat be cooled by the boundless waters that pour forth from the great clouds of the Bodhisattvas. May the rains of lava, blazing stones and weapons from now on become a rain of flowers, and may all battling with weapons from now on be a playful exchange of flowers. May the naked find clothing, the hungry find food; may the thirsty find water and delicious drinks. May the frightened cease to be afraid and those bound be freed; may the powerless find power, and may people think of benefiting one another. For as long as space endures and for as long as living beings remain, until then may I too abide to dispel the misery of the world. -Shantideva/Santideva
A Blessing for Happiness May everyone be happy and safe, and may their hearts be filled with joy. May all living beings live in Security and in Peace-- beings who are frail or strong, tall or short, big or small, visible or not visible, near or far away, already born or yet to be born. may all of them dwell in perfect tranquility. Let no one do harm to anyone. Let no one put the life of anyone in danger. Let no one, out of anger or ill will, wish anyone any harm. Metta Sutta (Stuttanipata) Translated by Thich Nhat Hahn
