| The Miranda class is probably the first Federation ship designed for tactical missions. With the Klingon and Romulan forces becoming an ever growing threat more ships were needed to be produced then the bulky Constitution classes. The Miranda fleet has been refitted several times with new technology and is still in limited use in exploration missions and the Federations war fleets during the Dominion War, though they are being quickly replaced by the Galaxy and Akira classes. |
