US Army Special Forces

This page is dedicated to COL Nick Rowe, a true American hero. If you don't know who he is, "ya better go ax somebody". Funny how the morons and the clowns get the attention and the publicity, and no one ever hears about people like COL Rowe. Yet, because of him and those like him, we are able to sit in front of our computers in safety and peace. Before you do another thing, take a moment and visit this web site: http://www.pipeline.com/~psywarrior/rowe.html

If nothing else, you'll learn why Jane Fonda is so popular with American patriots!

The last time, the doctor (orthopedist) told me to never come back. This was a great disappointment to me, but not career threatening to an Armor Officer. When I left the Army to work in the private sector, I met some co-workers at Harris Corporation in Palm Bay, Florida who were active Army reservists. At the time, I only knew of Military Police and Transportation units in central Florida, and neither of them had a great need for Airborne qualified combat arms captains. I was surprised to find that my two co-workers, who were soon to become close friends, were assigned to "A" Company, 3rd Battalion, 11th Special Forces, based in Tampa. Somehow, they talked me into coming to a reserve weekend, and before I knew it, I was training for the Special Forces Qualification Course at Fort Bragg, NC. Remembering my experiences at Ranger School, I prepared as best I could, using the Nautilus to build up my knees, and doing lots of running with a full rucksack. I was determined to successfully complete this course. I met this goal with SFQC Class 6-84 on February 8, 1985. I was 32 years old, and the 3rd or 4th oldest to graduate in my class. This is definitely a school to go to before you turn 30!

Here is a really neat site telling you a lot about what Special Forces is, and what they do:   http://users.aol.com/armysof1/SpecialForces.html
