Satellite Beach and Brevard County, Florida
Satellite Beach is a great place to live. We are in the south portion of Brevard County, close to just about anything you might want. Satellite Beach is just 20 miles down the road from America's gateway into space, Cape Canaveral and the Kennedy Space Center. We are about 70 miles east of Orlando, and world famous attractions, including Walt Disney World, Sea World, Gatorland, Wet & Wild, and Universal Studios.
Brevard County is midway between Jacksonville and Miami, Florida. Situated on the east central coast of Florida, I-95 runs through the length of the county, about 72 miles. We enjoy beautiful weather and beaches, and so far we don't have as much congestion as comparable places to live. The county population is currently just over 450,000.
We enjoy a remarkable combination of modern industrial technology mixed with abundant wildlife and unspoiled preserves. Brevard County regularly has the highest count of West Indian manatees (also known as the sea cow) in the state, a gentle aquatic mammal remotely related to the elephant.
