During my junior year at CMSU, CCH took 50 students to Juarez, Mexico to work with a Christian organization called Casas Por Christo, a group whose mission is to build homes for families in Juarez, and doing it all in the name of Jesus.
We went with 12 people from the University of Iowa, in Iowa City.  We were only in Juarez for four days, as we spent time roadtripping.  We spent nights in El Paso, Dallas and Amarillo.
On the way home, we took a tour of Carlsbad Caverns, New Mexico, which was breathtaking.
We were split into two different work groups, therefore we built two seperate homes for two different families.  What a joy it was at the end of the week to give a family a home!!!
These two families had been living in lean-to's, so these houses were definitely a tep up from what they had. They were required to help work on the houses with us.
Overall, this was a great trip, because it taught us perseverance.  We  had no showers for almost five days while we were in Juarez.  We worked in sandstorms that caked our eyes.  We slept in 25 degree weather with no heat....BUT IT WAS WORTH IT!!!
