Chicago

   This trip is very special to me. It is the first mission trip I ever went on with CCH, and as a Christian.
     CCH was still fairly small. Only 25 of us went on this mission trip, and I was one of only 4 freshmen!
     We worked with First Christian Church of Chicago for the week. We painted the halls of the church, screwed and painted hundreds of folding chairs, and helped tutor kids in the church's afterschool program.
     We also worked one day with a group of students from Harding University at the Greater Chicago Food Depository. We bagged over three tons of pasta in six hours!
     The main point of this trip was to sort of look at urban ministry, and getting a feel for what it is like. We worked some, but much of the trip was mainly getting to know different churches and different ministries.
     This trip really was one of unity and closeness. With the small number, we were able to be more unified and we got to know each other a lot better than on a bigger mission trip.
