Dynamic Effect

By using colours that are widely separated on the Colour Wheel and do not merge together create a dynamic effect in the picture.

Combining Warm Colours (Yellows and Oranges) and Cold Colours (Purples and Blues) create a similar effect for the Warm Colour advances into the picture as the Cold Colour recedes.

Warm and Cold Colours are said to Complementary Colours.
Green and Blue are considered to harmonious.
