By using colours that are widely separated on the Colour Wheel and do not merge together create a dynamic effect in the picture. Combining Warm Colours (Yellows and Oranges) and Cold Colours (Purples and Blues) create a similar effect for the Warm Colour advances into the picture as the Cold Colour recedes. Warm and Cold Colours are said to Complementary Colours. |
