When writing the correspondence assignment I learned a lot of things about business letters. Nowadays all we use are causal emails, which are very different from business letters. I learned that it is important to sound professional. When writing to the employer in America your intention is to thank them for the given job opportunity, and to schedule an appointment for an interview to discuss your options further. You also need to include you contact information. This letter is really brief and it cuts straight to the point. The characteristics of a letter indented to a foreign employer a slightly different. The letter is longer, because you include a short paragraph of friendly conversation. I wrote to an employer from Italy . That was pretty easy for me considering I come from a foreign country, which is located right next to Italy . Therefore I am very familiar with their culture and had no problem addressing that in the business letter. |
