GREAT BRITAIN 2006
In July, we spent a little over 2 weeks in Great Britain.  We drove our car over and learned to drive on the left side of the road.   We arrived in Britain via a train car that carried vehicles through the Channel Tunnel and we returned via an overnight ferry that was like a cruise ship.

WE TOOK A LOT OF PICTURES AND ARE FINALLY FINISHED ADDING THEM.  THE PAGES CAN BE ACCESSED BY CLICKING ON THE BOXES ON THE MAP. ONCE YOU ARE ON A DESTINATION PAGE YOU CAN TOGGLE THROUGH OUR ENTIRE TRIP USING THE "NEXT" AND "PREVIOUS" BUTTONS.

Our first week was spent near Reading at a cottage on the grounds of Mapledurham Estate.  We visited Bath and Oxford and drove around the picturesque Cotswolds. During the week Ralph took the train from Reading to the Farnborough Air Show for 4 full days of work while Karen and the kids had their own adventures in London, Reading, and at Longleat

The second week we traveled up to
York and then to the Lake District for 2 nights each.  Our last 4 nights were spent in Linlithgow, Scotland, just to the west of Edinburgh and we enjoyed exploring from there.  Key destinations were Edinburgh and the Trossachs.  On our way to catch our overnight ferry from Newcastle back to The Netherlands, we spent the day at Alnwick Castle.
