Robin Kochell

(our first female black belt ever)

Training:  Mrs. Kochell has been training with Sensei Johnson for around four years.  Mrs. Kochell is the first female black belt to be promoted within our system.  This is an amazing accomplishment!  Mrs. Kochell has been able to train with several other prominent martial arts figures.  Those would include Master Phillip Koeppel (8th degree black belt and head of the USKK), Master Doug Yates (6th degree black belt), and Master Roy Thomason (6th degree black belt, and a personal student of Master Soken and Master Kise).  Mrs. Kochell is very active and very successful in competition.  Her dominant event would be sparring, followed by forms.  Mrs. Kochell was a national champion in 2003 and 2004(PKC).  She also placed in the state in 2003 and 2004(PKC).  Mrs. Kochell practices all of the forms of our system up to the Nidan level, she also practices the 60 self-defense techniques of the Kenpo system that we have integrated into our system.  Mrs. Kochell is one of only six people to be award the Koala patch from Sensei Johnson.  She is also the only female to have been awarded this prestigious honor.

Kata Taught By Master Johnson:  Wansu; Pinan Shodan, Nidan, Sandan, Yodan, & Godan; Honna Ku; Seisan; Ichi Gina Passai; Passai Dai; Gojushiho; Kusanku; Naihanchi Shodan and Nidan, Chinto, Bo-Jits, Sai-Jits, Kama-Jits, Bo Kumite One and Two (offensive and defensive), Bo-Sai Kumite (offensive and defensive).
