When I learned about the disappearance of Danny "DM" Macapagal, I felt a sudden coldness, reminiscent of the feelings of fear which came over me when my husband Honor and my friend Johnny went missing three years ago.
Three years ago, DM was with our families, the Ayrosos and Orcinos, when we came searching for Honor and Johnny Orcino, at the detachment of the 71st IB of the Philippine Army in Sto. Nino III in San Jose City, at the San Jose City PNP headquarters, at the provincial PNP in Cabanatuan city, the PNP Regional HQ in San Fernando, Pampanga, at the 7th Infantry Division in Fort Magsaysay.

Members of the 76th Infantry Battalion, arbitrary arrested, without warrant, 4 members of Gabriela Women�s Party list in Quezon at 11:30am on March 1, 2005.
According to witnesses, Miralyn Gamba, Leonila Manalo, Nancy Elle and a pregnant Aileen Ramos were walking along the highway of Sitio Balugbog, Brgy. Bataan, Sampaloc, Quezon when 2 soldiers of the 16th IB passed by. After a few minutes, the soldiers fired a warning shot and asked the women to halt. The Soldiers did not identify themselves and refused to answer the women�s queries as to the circumstances of their "arrest."

In reaction to statements that she was responsible for deputizing the military to intervene in the Hacienda Luisita strike, DOLE Secretary Patricia Sto. Tomas yesterday said that she is not the one with blood on her hands. Sto. Tomas said in television interviews that the instigators of the Hacienda Luisita strike are the ones who have blood in their hands.
