April 1	1998	Robert Yates	Linda Maybin, 34, found April 1, 1998. Her decomposed body is found in a shallow grave 50 yards from the Wason and McClenahan crime scene. Two plastic bags cover the victim's head. Cause of death is one gunshot to the head. Semen in her body was matched to Yates' DNA. Non-indigenous plant trimmings covering her body were matched to vegetation in Yates' backyard.

April 4	1979	Peter Sutcliffe	19 year old Josephine Whitaker is spotted by Peter Sutcliffe walking alone. He asked if she had far to go and the two began chatting. Sutcliffe lagged behind, pretending to look at the clock, but in reality was removing the hammer from his jacket ready to attack. Sutcliffe hit Josephine Whitaker from behind with his ball-pein hammer and had knocked her to the ground where she began to moan loudly. He then dragged her approximately 30 feet into the darkness away from the road. She was still moaning loudly when Sutcliffe pulled her clothing back, turned her over onto her back, and then proceeded to stab her twenty-one times with the screwdriver in the chest and stomach, and six times in the right leg, and also thrust the screwdriver into her vagina. Her skull had been fractured from ear to ear.

April 6	1988	Andrei Chikatilo	The next victim murdered at Krasney Sulin sometime in April 1988 is never identified, her remains are found on April 6
	1975	Ted Bundy	25 year old Denise Oliverson, disappears in Grand Junction, Colorado, she is angry with her husband and pedals away on her bike. Her shoes and bike are later found, however her body is never located.
April 7	1991	Jeffrey Dahmer	Errol Lindsey disappeared after he met Dahmer outside a homosexual bookstore. The offer of money by Dahmer was enough to entice the man back to his apartment. At the apartment, he is drugged, then raped, later Errol is dismembered with his skin sliced away. Dahmer kept the body to add to his personal collection.
	1947	Herb Baumeister	Baumeister is born, he is the oldest son of Herbert and Elizabeth.
April 8	1990	Andrei Chikatilo	Lyubov Zuyeva, 31 years old is murdered during April near Donleskhoz Station and is left undiscovered until August 24
April 9	1979	John Gacy	The body of Robert Piest is finally found, the boy's abduction sparked the manhunt for Gacy and revealed the deaths of 33 boys and young men.

April 11	1994	Fred and Rose West	The remains of Rena West (nee Costello) are found at the Letterbox Field after and extensive search.
April 12	1975	Fred and Rose West	Juanita Mott is picked up as a hitchhiker and taken to the West's home where she is tied up with 17 feet of plastic cord and her own pantyhose, she is killed by a sharp blow with a ball-pein hammer and is then decapitated by Fred and buried with the others in the basement.
	1869	Henri Landru	Landru is born in Paris to a dressmaker and stoker. The family are hardworking and god-fearing.

April 15	1974	Fred and Rose West	Therese Siegenthaler sets out hitchhiking but falls into the hands of the Wests.
	1975	Ted Bundy	18 year old Melanie Cooley disappears in Nederland, Colorado while walking off from her small town high school never to be seen alive again. County road workers found her body 20 miles away. She had been bludgeoned on the back of the head, her hands had been tied, and a dirty pillowcase was left twisted around her neck.
April 16	1969	John Collins	13 year old Dawn Basom is murdered, her breasts are repeatedly slashed.
	1992	Paul Bernardo and Karla Homolka	Kristen French is abducted the parking lot of a church she was attending. A woman lured the lovely brunette over to her car on the pretence of asking directions. A man brandishing a knife approached Kristen from behind and she forced to accompany the kidnapper team. She is raped and murdered after days of intense torture. All but the murder is captured on tape.
April 17	1974	Ted Bundy	19 year old Susan Elaine Rancourt, disappeared while walking across Central Wa. State College, Ellensburg. she'd planned to meet a friend to see a German film. The friend finally went alone when Susan never showed. Susan was last seen leaving the advisor's meeting. Investigators found only her skull as they excavated Taylor Mountain, Bundy's graveyard of severed heads. It was brutally fractured.
	1986	John Duffy	Duffy murders 15 year old Maartje Tamboezer. She is knocked off her bike by a rope on the path as a trip. She is then dragged to a nearby thicket where she is severely beaten, bound, raped and strangled.
April 18	1992	Ivan Milat	Joanne Walters and Caroline Clarke are picked up by Milat while hitchhiking along the highway, they are taken to Belanglo Forest where they are shot and stabbed to death. Joanne's body showed signs of sexual assault.

April 19	1973	Fred and Rose West	Lynda Gough moved in with the Wests in March, however she disappears. She was a victim of the Wests' sex games, her entire face is encased in tape and she is tied up before being murdered.
April 20	1970	The Zodiac	Another letter is sent to the Chronicle
April 21	1973	Edmund Kemper	Kemper's penultimate victim. Clarnell Kemper is killed by her son as she lay in bed. He hit her once, very hard with a hammer, and then slashed her throat. Within a minute, he had killed and beheaded her, removing her larynx in the process. Later he called Sara Hallett, a friend of Clarnell’s, to invite her dinner, hoping that two murders may point the blame away from him. When Sara arrived he strangled her, first manually, and finally, with the scarf he had obtained from another victim.. He then removed Sara’s clothes and put her on his bed, and sometime that night attempted to have sex with her corpse.

April 23	1969	Jerry Brudos	Brudos murders 22 year old Linda Salee.
	1973	Edmund Kemper	Kemper drives to Pueblo Colorado and calls police to claim responsibility for the murders. They do not believe him and it takes three calls to police until they finally come and pick him up.
	1977	Peter Sutcliffe	Sutcliffe stopped the car near a very inebriated Patricia Atkinson and she jumped in without any coaxing,. She directed him to her flat which was not far away. Once inside the unit, Sutcliffe retrieved the hammer and hit her on the back of the head with a total of four massive blows. She fell off the bed and onto the floor leaving lots of blood on the floor. He hit her again and then hoisted her back onto the bed. Sutcliffe then pulled down her jeans and pants and exposed her breasts. He then began hitting her with one end of the hammer, and then clawing her with the other end, leaving oblong marks and grazes. He also stabbed her six times in the stomach with a knife as well as some stabbing attempts on her back, and slash marks along the left side of her body. Before he left the carnage he threw the bed linen over top of her body.
