Dance is the most emotional and beautiful outlet for a slave to show their devotion. On Gor, dancers trained intensely to be able to move in a manner that was delicate, sexual and heart wrenching all at the same time. Their minds and bodies were given to the dances they performed, and they relished each moment they were allowed to move before the Men they served. This page will serve as a resource for girls who wish to learn the ways of Gorean dance online.
"Only too obviously was this a trained dancer, and yet, too, there was far more than training involved. Too, I speak not of such relativity insignificant matters as the mere excellence of her figure for slave dance, as suitable and fitting as it might be for such and art form, for women with many figures can be superb in slave dance, or that she must possess a great natural talent for such a mode of expression, but something much deeper. In the nature of her dance I saw more than training, her figure, and her talent. Within this woman, revealing itself in the dance, in its rhythm, its joy, its spontaneity, its wonders, were untold depths of femaleness, a deep and radical femininity, unabashed and unapologetic, a rejoicing in her sex, a respect of it, a love of it, an acceptance of it and a celebration of it, a wanting of it, and of what she was, a woman, a slave, in all of its marvelousness." - Magicians p. 53-54
Training is not all dance includes, natural dancers possess a grace and a depth within them, almost as if the music frees the real slave within. Hidden deep with each girl is her dancer, poised, ready to spring from the shadows with the right note and emotion. Practice will help you find this, but the dance on the spur of the moment is almost always the best.
"The dance in the circle, as one might have gathered, was not the stately dance of free maidens, even in which, of course, the maidens, though scarcely admitting this even to themselves, experience something of the stimulatory voluptuousness of movement, but slave dance, that form of dance, in its thousands of variations, in which a female may excitingly and beautifully, marvelously and fulfillingly, express the depths and profoundities of her nature. In such dance the woman moves as a female, and shows herself as a female, in all her excitingness and beauty. It is no wonder that women love such dance, in which dance they are so desirable and beautiful, in which dance they feel so free, so sexual, so much a slave." - Magicians p. 44
Dance is used to express a slave's nature, her beauty and her grace, the wild abandon her body can become in the arms and at the feet of an inspiring Master. In the dance female slaves find themselves, express themselves in a light that even the most open of slaves cannot find at times. It is fulfilling beyond measure to dance, whether in words or in movements until your body and mind are exhausted, drained so completely, emptying everything at the feet of the man you serve.
"Then I knew I did not want to dance poorly. Out there were men, real men, many of whom excited and stirred me, even in my virgin's belly. I could scarcely imagine what it might be to be helpless in their arms, and at their heat and desire in them. They would not compromise with a woman like me. They would want her too much. They would throw her to their feet. They would dominate and master me, mercilessly! I was a female. In the arms of no other sort of man could I be fulfilled!" - Dancer p. 192
Lastly, a slave will dance for the exquisite pleasure the viewer and the dancer find in it. The fire in the eyes of the men who watch her, the moments that seem eternities in themselves, their bodies floating in an endless continuum. The helplessness a girl finds as her heart races in the music, her limbs caught in the beat, every fiber of her being taut, heated, moving to the rhythm in the dance, all leading her to the final collapse at the feet of a strong man. That is slave dance.
Here are a few quick tips on making your dance memorable.
1. Do not compare yourself to other slaves, because each slave is unique, and beautiful in their own right. Let yourself go. No one will judge you for your need, your emotion or your passion. Listen to your heart.
2. Dance from your soul. Dance how you feel at the moment. Close your eyes and think of the passion in your body, the things you are feeling for the Master who asked you to dance. Let those thoughts guide your dance. Don't think of how it looks, think of how it feels, how you feel when you are baring your soul.
3. Name your dances. If you name it as one of the accepted Gorean dances, make sure it incorporates the proper steps and technical necessities of the dance. Poetic license is greatly encouraged with dances of seduction, pole dances ect. But if you choose to call your dance a chain dance, make sure it is what the books call a chain dance.
