KACSPORTS 2005 PRE-SEASON FANTASY FOOTBALL RANKINGS - WIDE RECEIVERS
(UPDATED THROUGH 9/5)

1.
RANDY MOSS Cue the Autumn Wind music. Moss doesn't slip much, if at all, in Raider Nation.
2.
TORRY HOLT He and Bulger really seemed in synch late in 2004.
3.
CHAD JOHNSON He and Palmer working a lot towards getting on the same page.
4.
MARVIN HARRISON Most valuable in leagues that value TD's. That said, Reggie Wayne may be a better bargain two rounds later.
5.
JOE HORN Rebounded with a 1,400 yard year and 11 TD's.
6.
JAVON WALKER In camp and unlike TO, not causing trouble.
7.
REGGIE WAYNE Has a great chance to have a better year than Harrison. Find a way to get Manning and two Colt receivers in the first six rounds and they'll single-handedly carry your team on many weeks.
8.
TERRELL OWENS 131 yards in a half pretty impressive, but I'm still going to tread carefully.
9.
ANDRE JOHNSON But has only found the end zone 10 times in first two seasons.
10.
ANQUAN BOLDIN Only found the end zone once after 100 catch rookie year, expect him to rebound.
11.
DREW BENNETT 517 yards and eight TD's from Weeks 13-15, one of the best three week stretches in fantasy football history.
12.
DARRELL JACKSON Will have to pick up the slack with Koren Robinson gone.
13.
NATE BURLESON Vikings new #1 receiver.
14.
MICHAEL CLAYTON Slow to recover from off-season knee scope.
15.
STEVE SMITH See how he survives training camp after missing virtually all of last year.
16.
HINES WARD Holdout starting to worry me.
17.
ROY WILLIAMS Coming off 'minor' ankle surgery.
18.
DERRICK MASON 90+ catches the last two years, Kyle Boller has no more excuses.
19.
DONALD DRIVER Some think he's slipped but statistically he was actually better in '04 than '02.
20.
LAVERNAUES COLES Only 12 TD's the last three years.
21.
DEION BRANCH All signs point towards breakout year.
22.
LEE EVANS 32/522/16.3/7 TD's for second half of last year. Home run threat waiting to happen.
23.
MUSHIN MUHAMMAD Drop him out of the top-30 if Hutchinson's still starting opening day.
24.
EDDIE KENNISON 38/698/18.4/8 TD's for last eight games last year.
25.
JERRY PORTER Saved some teams season with 8 TD's from weeks 12-16.
26.
LARRY FITZGERALD Cooled off late in his rookie year, expect 1,000+ yards in year 2.
27.
T.J. HOUSHMANDZADEH Got the whole last name and the up arrow in.
28.
BRANDON STOKLEY Questionable for Week 1 (shoulder).
29.
SANTANA MOSS Gets a downgrade with Skins lousy QB situation.
30.
ISAAC BRUCE Off-season scare with his ticker.
31.
ASHLEY LELIE He's your man if you want yards per catch.
32.
DAVID GIVENS Will get more balls his way with Patten gone.
33.
PLEXICO BURRESS Has been plexiglass so far in camp.
34.
ERIC MOULDS Veteran becomes more of a #2 this year.
35.
CHRIS CHAMBERS Who's going to get the ball to him??
36.
JIMMY SMITH New elder-statesman among receivers at age 36, and still had 1,172 receiving yards last year.
37.
BRAYLON EDWARDS Will be Browns #1 receiver from Day 1.
38.
KEARY COLBERT Had to mature in a hurry replacing Steve Smith as a rookie, and had a decent - but not great campaign.
39.
ROD SMITH Another golden oldie, good for 1,154 yards last year.
40.
DONTE STALLWORTH Finally started to tap his potential in '04.
41.
KEENAN MCCARDELL Veteran Chargers most reliable receiver.
42.
ROBERT FERGUSON Last seen on the receiving end of a near-decapitation.
43.
KEVIN CURTIS Won a lot of playoff leagues for people, and deseves consideration as Rams #3 receiver.
44.
KEYSHAWN JOHNSON Safe late-round pick, don't look for upside.
45.
TYRONE CALICO Has massive potential, but remains to be seen how he recovers from Roy Williams horse-collar job.
46.
JEROME PATHON Battles Joe Jurevicius for starting spot.
47.
TROY WILLIAMSON Stash away till later in the season.
48.
MIKE WILLIAMS Whereas Troy Williamson figures to be a big-play threat, Willams should be more the posession type.
49.
DAVID PATTEN 18 yards per catch and seven scores in '04. Only problem is he's no longer on Tom Brady's payroll.
50.
ANTWAAN RANDLE EL Serious sleeper potential with Burress out the door.
51.
CHARLES ROGERS Fragile collarbone needs no introduction.
52.
FREDDIE MITCHELL Fantasy value should take a huge jump signing with KC.
53.
BRANDON LLOYD Best the Niners have, which is not saying much.
54.
MARCUS ROBINSON Had his chance with Moss out last year, didn't do much with it.
55.
AMANI TOOMER Production fell off drastically last year, some of it may be attributed to a rookie QB however.
56.
RECHE CALDWELL Was starting to make an impression before doing in his knee.
57.
DENNIS NORTHCUTT Oft-overlooked slot receiver gained 555 yards in final eight games.
58.
ANTONIO BRYANT Did well with the Browns after getting booted out of Dallas.
59.
JOEY GALLOWAY Hasn't made it through a season unscathed in ages.
60.
ERIC PARKER Battles Caldwell for a starting spot.
61.
PEERLESS PRICE Major dissapointment, but Falcons take a huge cap it if they cut him loose now.
62.
DAVID BOSTON Injury history, rap sheet well chronicled, could still be worth a risk late.
63.
RONALD CURRY Back-to-back 100-yard games before season-ending injury. Now needs something to happen to Jerry Porter to become a fantasy force again.
64.
MATT JONES Showed off his talent after slow start this pre-season. Currently sitting #3 on the depth chart, he will be a popular waiver-wire pick-up throughout the season.
65.
ROD GARDNER Currently on the trading block.
66.
ANDRE DAVIS 99-yard score turned out to be his last hurrah of '04.
67.
MICHAEL JENKINS Is expected to make a vast improvement in his second year.
68.
RODDY WHITE Could well be a project like Michael Jenkins.
69.
GREG LEWIS Playoff performance made Fred-EXpendable.
70.
TERRY GLENN Had hot start to 2004 season, but got hurt as usual.
71.
CEDRIC WILSON Ex-Niner will battle Randle El and rookie Fred Gibson for playing time.
72.
TODD PINKSTON Could be top-50 with a prolonged Owens holdout.
73.
REGGIE WILLIAMS Huge rookie dissapointment, but receivers usually make their greatest strides in year 2.
74.
MARK CLAYTON Considered the most 'NFL-ready' of this years rookie crop.
75.
JOE JUREVICIUS Pathon reported to mini-camp overweight, so Vicius may have a chance for playing time.
76.
JUSTIN GAGE Former hoopster considered a posession receiver.
77.
BRIAN FINNERAN Often Vick's safety valve.
78.
SAMMIE PARKER Fourth-round draft pick flashed big-play ability late last season.
79.
MARTY BOOKER Wasn't impressive trying to fill Boston's shoes last year.
80.
COREY BRADFORD Best shot to open opposite Andre Johnson, although look out for fleet rookie Jerome Mathis - although he is a project.
