Sepctember 12, 2003 It is very early in the morning right now... I just came back from an awesome night of friends and fellowship with my fellow CCFer's. It was so nice to see everybody after so long, and to gather in a place with so many other people who share the same faith. After fellowship, which included a rather humourous activity of matching committee members to little-known life facts, I went out to Timeless with a group to have some bubble tea (I actually had fresh fruit Mango shake). Then, it was off to hockey once again! The event I've been waiting 4 months for! The regular gang (ie: Simon, Paul, Chris, Jesse, etc...) was joined by some new froshies! It was really nice to meet so many new people tonight! Hard on the memory, but nice all the same =P I missed my dearest Victoria as she took off for MIssissauga right after her classes and I didn't see her tonight =( But next Friday will come soon enough! This week was a lot of work. My brain is starting to fade since it's so late/early... however you want to look at it. I just wanted to say that I miss you Ottawa folk, with special and loving mention of course, to Mom and Dad. I had better get some sleep before I throw my internal clock off any more.. LOL! Later!
Sepctember 9, 2003 Hello there! Wow, it's really been a while =) The past couple of weeks have been great. I went to Nova Scotia on August 28th and spent a lovely week with Nanny, Poppy, and my cousins, aunts, and uncles. It was a very enjoyable time. Thank you to everyone down there for making my stay so nice, it's truly appreciated! =) When I got back to the O-dot, I spent the next few days packing like crazy. During my last day home, Sarah and I met up at the mall for lunch and a little shopping, and then that night before I left, Mart, Oli, Ali, Alex, and Mat came over to watch Antitrust. It was really nice to see them before leaving. I went to bed at 12, but I don't think I fell asleep until about 1 am since my head was spinning with things I forgot to pack, everything I had to buy at the grocery store the next day, etc... And then a knock on my door at 5 am (since my alarm clock was packed) and Dad and I set off for the 'Loo at 6. It was so foggy you wouldn't believe it! There were time that you couldn't see anything at all but the little patch of road just ahead. Cars and trucks were appearing and dissapearing everywhere... very creepy indeed! It was a nice drive down though. Dad and I always have so much fun on roadtrips! =D Everything was smooth until we hit the Waterloo highway... it was very backed up with everyone coming back. After getting all my stuff up the stairs, Dad took Kim and I to Zehrs and we got all our essentials. Did you know that you can buy beef it 10 pound tubes!!?? THey're kind of gross looking, but boy do they ever fit the student budget! LOL! We bought two... they should last us a while... I would hope! Living here is fantastic! Every single person in the house is just wonderful to live with. Di got back from her trip to the East coast yesterday, so now everybody's all moved back in. My room is all set up just how I like it... I'll take pictures and post them up! IT's so funky! The first day of school was very long and painful... LOL! I had 5 classes in a row, and I figured that I wouldn't have my Analytical chemistry lab until next week but I was wrong. So after my 5 classes, I had a 3 hour long lab. Then I went to the bookstore and picked up my textbooks... that's the painful part! Let's just say that a 20 minute walk home was starting to approach an hour. Have you ever carried a bunch of science textbooks? They're massive! My back is still hurting. I won't be doing that again, that's for sure! =P I guess that's about it. My Analytical chemistry looks like it's going to be my challenge for the term. As hard as it looks, I think it's the most useful by far. And as my friend Herman pointed out, it will also bring the most satisfaction when I acheive it... or the most frustration! I had better get back to work. Just thought this page was in a serious need of an update! TTYL!
Sepctember 16, 2003 Today was a very interesting day... for the second time the chain fell off my bike and jammed, thus making me late for my resume blitz appointment. Anyone who knows me (ie: you if you are reading this page! LOL!) knows that I'm very anal-retentive about punctuality, and the only thing that bothers me more than other people being late is when I'm late for something. I would just rather not go instead of showing up late... so yeah... I get quite emotional when I'm late for something important. Very silly I know =P I ended up getting there 15 minutes late (having left 20 minutes early), and it all worked out since they were running behind anyway. Catastrophe averted! The only thing that made me continue on my way to school was the undoubted fact that God meant for me to be delayed for some reason which I don't know, and I'm just going to have to trust his reasoning, since he kinda knows everything! Maybe because of that, I didn't get run over by a bus or something... I guess I'll ask him what it was all about when I see him =) Speaking of God, church was wonderful this last Sunday. How I've missed it! I'm so fortunate to have found such a great church. The message this week was on "The Art of Confrontation", part one of a three part series called "You can learn to Fight right". It's so applicable to the everyday, you know? This whole cooking thing is very time consuming! I chopped celery for 20 minutes today! And then carrots and green peppers... oh boy! Dad, I appreciate all that cooking all the more now that I have to do it myself!! On an upnote, I made stir-fry for the first time on the weekend (please don't laugh), and it turned out really well... almost tasted like home. So that means I can now make stir-fry, any type of pasta, any type of food that all you have to do is stick it in the oven, and Sidekicks! (What wonderful little creations they are!) I think I'm going to work on chili next. =) P.S. I've figured out I'm allergic to cats... so that means Marianne's door must stay closed during the day and she can't play with kitty on her bed =( Kitty makes Marianne sneeze at 6 am... boo! LOL!
Sepctember 20, 2003 What a fantastic night at fellowship last night! We started with a time of song and praise, and we sang "What Else Can I do?" which is a newer song to CCF, and I just absolutely adore it! After a few announcements, we broke off into faculties, and went on a prayer walk around campus. It is such a privilege that we can pray in public whenever we want. There are some other places in the word that we may be killed for doing something like that. After our prayer walk, it was social time. Victoria gave me some pictures from her Ottawa co-op term and I really love them. It was so nice to finally spend some time with her after all these weeks. And, of course, as with every Friday night, who can forget hockey!? We had a blast. I played from 11 to 2:30 am. I was mostly goalie, which worked out well since I have a little bit of something and I didn't want to bring it on any worse. It was crazy out there! There were at least 30 people. It was getting so hectic that we had to split it into two games. The only thing about hockey is that someone always ends up getting hurt, and with so many people, there were a few injuries. I hope everyone is feeling better today =) Awww, kitty! The cat is sleeping on my bed. He must be exhausted. He's had to deal with this other cat in the house, who's really cute too, but she doesn't get along with any other cats, so there's been a lot of hissing and growling (have you ever heard a cat growl? It's quite an odd sound!). I hope they'll learn to get along. Today I'm just staying in and relaxing. I have a bit of reading to do and a question on my Stats assignment to finish up, but besides that, I've been reminiscing with old school Nintendo! Yah! There doesn't seem to be any junior co-op jobs in my field in Ottawa. Prayers please that God will help me find the right job. And for all of the other students in co-op as well. Peace to all of us... this is such a hectic process! Alrighty! Time for me to... do something else! =P
