從小生長在一個雜亂又溫馨的小眷村裡，我並沒有傲人的家世背景 (父親是個阿兵哥，母親則是為了一袋米被家人賣給別人，當時母親的家鄉鬧旱災。) 從小日子過的很清苦，因父親把錢拿去與朋友投資做壁畫，公司倒了，欠了許多人的錢，從此父母親開始不分日夜的外出工作還別人的錢，當時父母親唯一的喜好就是打麻將，跟鄰居的媽媽打。家中沒有份何宗教信仰，只有在年節拜一下祖宗，此習慣直到我母親信耶穌之後就再也沒有了。因為她把家裡的祖宗牌位燒了(母親是第一位信主的，是鄰居傳的。) 我也就在打打鬧鬧吵吵罵罵聲中長大了。

高中一畢業，夜大沒考上，就開始找工作，第一份工作是電子公司的女作業員，做了兩個多月就改行到自己的眷村裡面陳媽媽家開托兒所，第一天上班好興奮，下班回家後第一件事就是請媽媽幫我買手套，母親問我做甚麼呢？我說：我要幫小朋友洗屁屁。從此我母親給我一個封號：洗屁屁老師。做了一年多，陳媽媽因身體不適故結束了托兒所。而我由鄰居姊姊介紹到一所教會附設的托兒所上班，第一天上班並未好興奮,可是下了班卻還喜歡這份工作—隨車助教。(畢業後雖然白天上班,晚上仍在自修考夜大,想環游世界做空姊又賺錢又可玩,當時好天真,其實根本不是如此,如今才知道當空姊很危險又辛苦。)

感謝主，初到教會附設的托兒所上班，受到何清道牧師，師母的幫助，在此真的很感謝他們。一年後,何師母的一通電話，問我要不要受浸。我答應了，母親也十分贊同，受完浸沒多久何牧師，師母離開了此地。而我也把注意力集中在環境與自己的身上，三年未上夜大，但感謝主讓我能在自己的工作上，有再職進修的機會，此機會有的很奇妙，如今回想只有感謝主準備一年。讀五年，如此混混沌沌的做了七八年的基督徒，(在我的計劃中從未想過要讀神學院。) 我唸神學院時心門被打開受完浸沒有久，我就開始服事—教兒童主日學與每月一次團契獻詩，如今回想,我必須承認 我教的是自己的觀念,座右銘—真、善、美。

未進神學院之時，聖經對我說只是一本書。一個名詞而已。十年了我沒有看完聖經裡面任何一卷書卷，更不知摩西五經是甚麼。是我自己不肯上成人主日學。是我自己心硬的。還可以告訴你在主日崇拜時我時個遲到早退的基督徒。 千萬別學我! 因我內心是確信有神。但我對很多事情還是不明白。因我常祈禱，事情也常蒙應允。所以我內心才會時常出現三個字: 真、善、美。此種情況一直到我唸神學院時才改變的，奇妙的主，奇妙真奇妙。一個舊人變新人，唯一的方法就是聖經。沒有任何一個人可以徹徹底底的改變一個人。只有聖經的經節，神的話，可以打破破一切堅固的心。因為它是一本神的話。而我們所傳的耶穌是位又真又活的神。祂掌握歷史。祂更掌每個人生命中的各階段。每一個階段，環環相連，讓人回想往事。只有一句讚美的話--感謝主。更願人都尊你的名為聖。知道嗎?如今聖經是我的至寶，因祂先愛我們的。祂愛我們每一位。祂不在乎你在未信之時所犯的錯 (羅3:25)。祂只在乎你相不相信祂，把祂的話聖經用在日常生活中。聖經也是一本預言教導的書。願所有的基督徒都能更蒙福，更加認識神，在服事上更忠心。(此服事不分工作、教會、學校等等。每日盡你所能，凡事心中有主。)

I grew up in a complicated, but warm, housing area for military dependents. I didn’t have an impressive background since my father was merely a soldier, and my mother was sold as a child to another family just for a sack of rice because there was a famine. My childhood days were hard but simple. My father invested our money in a friend’s sign company, and the company failed. With a debt hanging over our heads, my parents worked day and night to pay back this money. Their only pastime was playing mahjong with the neighbors. We really had no religious beliefs in our family, just worshiping the ancestors once a year at New Year’s. We kept this up until my mother trusted Jesus Christ through the testimony of a neighbor. At that time, she burned the ancestral tablet. So, I grew up in the midst of quarreling and fighting.

After I graduated from high school, I couldn’t test into university, so I started working as a salesclerk in an electric company. After a while I started working for a daycare run by a neighbor lady. The first day I was really excited. When I got home, the first thing I did was to ask my mother to buy me a pair of gloves. When my mother asked me why, I said, to help wipe the children when they go to the bathroom! After that, my mother gave me the nickname—The Wiper. After a year, because the neighbor lady was ill, she closed the daycare. A friend then introduced me to work in a church kindergarten. I was not as excited after the first day of work, but I still enjoyed it. I was the helper who rode the school bus. I worked during the day and in the evening studied to prepare for the college entrance exam. I wanted to become an airline stewardess so I could make money and travel the world at the same time. Now I would not want this job because it is dangerous and just plain hard.

I thank the Lord that when I first started working at this church kindergarten, the pastor and his wife really helped me. I really thank them for their help. A year later, the pastor’s wife called and asked me whether I would like to be baptized. I consented, and my mother was in favor too. Not long after I was baptized, the pastor and his wife left the area. I started to focus my attention on my surroundings and on my physical health. Although I had not made it into college even after three years, I thank the Lord that I had opportunities to learn more. I thank the Lord for letting me learn a lot on the job and let me learn through seven or eight years as a Christian. (At that time I had never thought about going to Bible college.)

Before I went to Bible college, the Bible was just another book to me—just a word. In my first ten years as a Christian I had never read even one book of the Bible all the way through. I didn’t even know what the Pentateuch was. I want to tell you too that I was the kind of Christian that comes to church late and leaves early. (Don’t learn from me!) I know the Lord was in my life, but I was very unclear in spiritual things. When I started Bible college, things changed a lot. The Lord is just wonderful! The way I changed was by reading the Bible. There is no other way to change a person so completely. God’s Word tore through my stubborn heart. I know it has this power because Jesus Christ is the one true God. He controls history; it’s no wonder He can control every stage of a person’s life. I have just one word to say to the Lord: Thank you! Hallowed be thy Name!

Do you know what? Now the Bible is my treasure. I know the Lord looks past my sin and sees my faith. The Bible is a book of instruction and prophecy. I hope that all Christians can be blessed as they get to know God better as they serve the Lord in their work, their churches, and their schools!
