| Walk Away Dreams: Chapter Three Jon pulled me from the cab as we came to our destination. The place was something Ive never seen before. On the outside it was simply elegant. Junoesque was the name that the lights glittered above the entrance. We entered through the glass doors into the candle lit restaurant. A wine rack settled behind the hostess booth, where tan granite walls made the place feel rustic. My eyes wandered to the dining area. Gorgeous white satin cloths covered the tables with silverware galore at the plate settings. Crystal glasses were also set with the plates. In the far back a jazz band played soft music where I saw couples dancing. "Wow," I stuttered. "This is just amazing!," I said with a smile. "I know," he said comically as he pulled at his tie. I rolled my eyes slightly and laughed. The hostess lead us to our table and seated us, then poured us complimentary wine and left to get our server. God this must be expensive I thought as I stared at the pink tinted wine. He must make a lot more than I think he does I pondered. "I dont think I can ever be accustomed to all this...it just insane," I stated. "Well, then we will both relish in this insanity...insanity is bliss after all," Jon said as he raised his glass. Our glasses clinked together and we sipped. "This is all so wonderful Jon, thank you so much!," I gleed. "Your very welcome, Im just glad that your here" "You and your smooth talk...it makes it unfair," I laughed. "Oh? What unfair?" "Unfair that its impossible for me to stop blushing! I only have so much blood that can rush to my head Sir!" Jon shook is head. "Alright then, I will stop," he said sadly. "No no no...I..didnt mean that," I said smiling. "Still unfair though...but...you'll get yours!" "Ooh," he smirked. "I like the sound of that." After eating, the night ended with dancing on the restaurant's open dance floor with blur of other couples that danced around us. All I could see was him though, I felt like no one else was in the room. His cologne that he wore struck me the most as we danced cheek to cheek. I just loved the scent that was overpowering, yet sudden. It was getting pretty late as we finally left into the cab. The night had turned into a storm of pounding, echoing rain. I was tired and exhausted, but well worth it. I leaned against Jon's shoulder as the cab made it's way into traffic. "We really need to do this again sometime," Jon said. "I agree," I said as I snuggled into him more as he held me. I opened my eyes slightly and looked though the water droplets on the windshield as the wipers made a monotone sound swooshing back and forth. The passing cars lights made my eyes hurt as they passed on the opposite way. In that second- I saw one of those lights come closer to us, crossing the double striped line in the road into our lane. I began to gasp, interrupted by screeching tires and a hard jolt. That was the last I saw. |
