Surnames connected to this Line DREWRY FORBES GERRATH GERRIE McCOMBIE MELVIN RIDDELL |
ANDERSON Family Click Here to go straight to the Anderson Family Report! The first two lines begin (so far) with the marriage of my G-G-G-Grandparents, William and Barbara Anderson, on April 11, 1807 in Logie-Coldstone, ABD. They are probably both Andersons, although new evidence points to Barbara actually being a Webster. They lived at Burnside of Hopewell in Logie Coldstone and also had about four children. The third Anderson line begins with my other G-G-G-Grandparents, James Anderson and Margaret Forbes (m. July 5, 1823, Log-Cold, ABD), who lived at Birkhill in Logie-Coldstone and managed to have about ten children. One of their daughters, Christian, married William and Barbara's son Alex in 1856, thus merging the three Anderson lines together. Christian and Alex had about four children. Christian's brother James went off to nearby Auchindoir parish and brought back Mary Riddell to be his wife. James and Mary had at least 9 children. In June 1895 James and Mary's daughter Isabella married Alex and Christian's son William in Logie Coldstone. William and Isabella's daughter Margaret Mary (b. 1901 in Logie-Coldstone) travelled to Canada and married John James Gerrath, January 1926, in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. They had 5 children. After John's death in 1944, Margaret moved her family to Toronto, Ontario where her eldest daughter Ruth was living. After a particularily harsh winter ('45-'46), Margaret said "Forget Ontario" and moved to the warmer clime of Vancouver, British Columbia. As you can see from the Anderson Report, there are a great deal of unaccounted-for Andersons wandering about. Some possibly went to Akron, Ohio, others went to Gananoque, Quebec, and Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I'm working on it.
