Aconcagua
Home
Aconcagua is the
highest mountain in
the western and
southern hemisphere.
It stands at 22,850ft.
Its location is in the
high Andes of Argentina. Aconcagua is also
known as the Stone
Sentinel.

Allen Gerber and
myself climbed
Aconcagua in 1997.
These are a few
pictures from that
climb.
This bath house is a Incan ruin built into
the side of a gorge. It was located near the
the pass we started our climb at.
Allen (second from left)
and myself (far right) with
some new friends at base
camp. Base camp was at
14,300ft. This is where
we started carrying loads.
This is Aconcagua.
The mules and cowboys
you see are how we got
the 300lbs of gear up to
base camp. Base camp is
just over the rise.
Cowboys taking some gear back down the mountain.
