Central Cascades
Home
The Central Cascades
are the most popular
mountains in the Seattle
area.This is for two reasons.
One reason is there location.
Seattle is generally 1hrs.
drive from the Central
Cascades. The other
reason is the beauty of
the region. The mountains
vary dramatically. The
west side is steep and
heavily wooded. The east
side is more arid and
open. But what makes
this region so special.
Are the many beautiful
alpine lakes.

These are some photos
from climbs and hikes in
this region.

Tom near the summit of Huckelberry
Mountain. You have Lemah Mt., Chimney
Rock, and Overcoat Pk. in the background.
My freind Chuck on
the summit of Chimney
Rock. This was a great
climb but a little longer
than expected.
A view from
Granite Mountain.
What you're
looking at is
Cathedral Rock
in front of
Mt. Daniels
One of my favorite
ways of camping is
a bivy in the snow.
