Mt. Rainier
Home
Living in the northwest
and being a climber. It's
hard not to appreciate
the various routes on
Mt. Rainier. You can climb
at all degrees of difficulty.
From the extreme to the
not so extreme. But I
would never say climbing
Mt. Rainier is easy. It
should always be treated
with respect and care.

My  climbs have included
Liberty Ridge, Gibraltar
Ledge, Fuhrer Finger, Kautz
Glacier, Tahoma Glacier,
Ingraham Direct, and so on.

The photos you'll see are
from all over Mt. Rainier and
the Mt. Rainier National Park
.
This photo shows various routes on Mt. Rainier.
On the left you have the Emmons Glacier and on
the right you have the Willis Wall, Liberty Ridge,
and far right Ptarmigan Ridge.
Liberty Ridge more clearly. It starts in the middle and works
its way to the right. The Willis Wall is to the left of Liberty Ridge,
and Curtis Ridge is to the far left.
A view looking straight up
Liberty Ridge. Be sure to notice the
huge ice cliffs above, they cut loose
giant blocks of ice now and then.
Climbers watching an avalanche on the
Willis Wall.
