Technology Facilitaion Standard I
Gradually those who are not technologial advanced can catch up to those are are well versed in computers.The technology facilitator is the one to encourage and show these teachers new trends in technology. The technology standard is shown in a personal experience. A teacher in my building actually panics when using new technology. Standard I is shown when I demonstate the technology and then assist the teacher in developing the new skill.
When technology is thrown into teachers faces frustration and panic develop. Recently, my district requires supply odering, for the following year, to be done online. Some teachers began to panic over the sudden change. To help their understanding of the new technology, I demonstated the new skill. Standard I - Artifact I is the handout which I gave to the teachers to help easily navigate the program. Those who were more technology savvy were given the website in which the document appeared, thus encouraging their technological skills.
*Teachers are required, in my district, to order supplies online for the following year. This handout allowed them to easily access the site and place an order.
