Apart of the 2-azabicyclo[5.3.0]decanes descibed up to here, other derivatives of keton 6 and oxime 7 (see basic concepts) could be synthesised with the nitrogen at the “7”-position of the steroid backbone. Three classes of compounds are shown in the figure.

None of the four oxime ethers synthsised had any antifungal potency, just as the oxime 7 itself.

Four 7-amino-des-A,B-cholestan derivatives were produced. Surprisingly all of them showed antifungal potency. The best, 47 and 48, were only less potent by the factor 10 than the best substances of this thesis. We recon that they interefere in the ergosterol biosynthesis at another stage than the other compounds presented.
