TRAINING - WHAT IS INVOLVED?
At the present time, Jim sees a need for more personal Reiki training, and therefore prefers to suit the individual’s needs and availability. He currently offers training in 1st Stage (beginner level) to individuals, or to small groups at mutually convenient times rather than on scheduled dates.

The class time involved is around 10-12 hours for individuals, and 12-15 hours for small groups, and will involved a minimum of two (not necessarily consecutive) days.

It is also expected that the student will, in addition to these supervised tuition hours, complete around 4 to 6 hours practice in the home or professional setting. This will include the experiences of self-treatment, treatment of another person both in the seated position and lying down, and meditation practice. The student will be required to report on these experiences during practice to the teacher.

Training may be held at weekends or during the week so as fit in with work or family commitments.

Training is generally given at the Reiki Centre at Bittern, though, if attendance there is not practical for any reason, Jim is willing to consider another suitable venue, such as a private home, or, for groups, a small hall, etc.

CLASS CONTENT
Training is comprehensive, and the practical aspect includes the learning and practice of treatment routines for self-care and for care of others, and simple meditation and breathing practices, so as to ensure student confidence in these. Significant time is also devoted to the historical and cultural background of Reiki, and its philosophy.

The practical uses of Reiki are also covered and, with the advent of regulation of complementary therapies, there is emphasis placed on the importance of practising Reiki in a professional and ethical manner.

CLASS FEE
The fee for training in 1st Stage Reiki Jin Kei Do is $350. This includes detailed class notes for student support, and a certificate is issued on completion of training.

Note:
Students who have previously completed training in the Western tradition of Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho) and who wish to consider retraining in this tradition, are most welcome to retrain. This is a wonderful way to deepen one’s practice. However, because of significant differences in modes of treatment, attunements, and other aspects that are unique to this form of Reiki, complete retraining is required, and consequently the full fee is charged.

2nd STAGE TRAINING
After some period of practice at 1st Stage Jin Kei Do level (ideally after some 12 months), the committed student may wish to consider further training. Jim will discuss this with each intending student to assess whether they are ready for this.

Training is held over three or four sessions (or more if required). Revision of 1st Stage is a part of this training. This level of training becomes significant if the student is considering professional practice in clinical settings. The fee is $700 inclusive of detailed class notes, and a certificate is issued on completion.
