REIKI
JIN KEI DO

In the teaching and practice of Reiki, this tradition - sometimes referred to as the Eastern tradition of Reiki - is less well known that the much more widely known Western tradition which was introduced widely into the Western world in the 1980s and 90s.

More about   the origins of Reiki Jin Kei Do

Reiki Jin Kei Do may appeal to the discriminating student for the following reasons...

The form of practice in this lineage has a resemblance to the ancient practice of Reiki, which in turn originates from the Buddho method of natural healing which originated some 2,500 years ago in Buddhist culture.

This form includes the important aspect of meditation practice. Meditation is used to develop an awareness of compassion and of the experience of energy.

The methods of practice involve treatment of the subject both through direct hand contact and also within the body's energy field. Disturbance or sickness in the physical body may be accompanied by a similar disturbance in the energetic body or aura. There is therefore a completeness about the treatment offered to the subject.

The focus of the treatment positions is on the body's energetic centres - the chakras, the energy channels connecting the chakras - the nadis, and certain significant energy concentration points known as marma points.

There is an opportunity to become aware of a deepening of the philosophy and spiritual discipline behind the practice of Reiki.

The methods of empowerment in this lineage are significant. This is important for students retraining - see below.

The lineage was named "Jin Kei Do" by Dr. Ranga Premaratna, Ph.D, the present head of the lineage. He has stated in his writings that ...
"Reiki Jin Kei Do is therefore the practice of Reiki with compassion and wisdom as part of one's daily existence. It is therefore a way of life rather than just another healing method."

We invite you to read the spiritual ideals of Reiki Jin Kei Do

Jim Frew has extensive experience in the practice and teaching of both traditions (although his practice is now exclusively in the Eastern tradition) and can inform and advise if you have further questions on these differences.

Or you can read QUESTIONS and ANSWERS about Reiki JIN KEI DO

Any student, who has already trained in the Western tradition and is subsequently attracted to Reiki Jin Kei Do, is welcome to retrain in this lineage. However, such students will be required to attend a full class so as to learn the different modes of treatment, the meditation and breathing practices used, and to receive the empowerments unique to this lineage.

If the student has trained in the Western tradition at Stage 1 and wishes to complete Stage 2 in the Jin Kei Do lineage, it will be essential to complete training and empowerment in the Jin Kei Do lineage Stage 1 before receiving the training and empowerments in Jin Kei Do Stage 2.

On completion of each stage in the training, the student is issued with a certificate.
