UNSA's Member of The Month
This initiative seeks to honor those UNSA members who have
shown excellence in education and outstanding committment to this organization.
The Programs is established to recognize outstanding performance by UNSA members
have exemplified exceptional levels of academic performance and displayed high
regard towards international law, its relevant institutions, the United Nations,
international justice, and international human rights. Each honoree is given a
Certificate of Appreciation and is feautured in UNSA's Newsletter and Website.
Please note that UNSA Executives do not qualify for this award.
Selection Process
Any UNSA Executive can nominate a name to the Executive Board
during the first week of every academic month. The evaluation is based on the
previous month's performance. The nomination of a member by an Executive is
based on:
a. Outstanding and sustained performance of assigned duties.
b. Significant and positive impact on the John Jay College
community and UNSA. Such accomplishments must be identified.
c. Outstanding attendance record at UNSA meetings and
events.
d. Responsible attitude toward assigned duties.
e. Good behavior and attitude towards other members of the
club.
f. The Four UNSA Executives take a vote on the nomination in a
closed meeting. At least three (3) votes must be caste in favor of the
nomination in order for him/her to be slected. In case of a tie, the Executives
consult the faculty adviser(s). Faculty adviser(s) does not need to be present
in the closed meeting.
g. The honoree can be awarded at any event or meeting sponsered
or co-sponsered by UNSA during any time of the semester. The honoree must be
notified in advance of the honoring ceremony. If he/she wishes, the award can be
given in private.
