| TF Standard III states that technology facilitators should be able to apply and implement curriculum plans that include methods and strategies for utilizing technology to maximize student learning. To demonstrate my competency of this standard, I have included Web pages I created containing activities for Using the Internet in Education (WebActivity1, WebActivity2, WebActivity3, WebActivity4, Web Activity5). Students of present day utilize computers for activities ranging from chatting to conducting Internet searches. It makes sense then that inclusion of classroom activities which require students to make use of technology would only serve to maximize student learning. The artifacts I have incorporated accomplish this because the activities oblige students to use several different technological pieces. When exhibiting competency as a technology educator, it is not enough to simply include use of a particular type of software. Correct use of technology can increase the development of long-term memory. Technology is another exciting way to create learning tasks that will facilitate this authentic learning. The artifacts I have included display my ability to make use of technology applications in such a way that fosters student learning. The activities ask students to participate in technology exercises that assist them in making connections to real-life experiences. Whether or not a student is a child or an adult, an excellent strategy to promote learning is to model what is expected. My future as a technology leader may require me to encourage others to utilize technology. The Web pages I have created could serve as a model of how to effectively apply technology. As I viewed this past assignment, I realized some improvements that could be made because of the knowledge I have acquired. I will continue to update the activities I have created to sustain and improve my proficiency with this standard. * Please note that the artifact links are not active Web pages so some links may not work, images may not be present, and backgrounds may not appear. |
