Objectives: By the end of this lesson,
students will be able to:
- define media literacy
- determine criteria for the
legitimacy of a Web site

Internet Focus: Media Literacy
Summary of Project: Students will conduct an Internet
search to define media literacy. They will then continue their
search to locate specific criteria that may be used to determine the
legitimacy of a Web site. Students will then design a checklist
that could be used for evaluating Web sites. Once they have completed
their checklists, students will evaluate a Web site using these
criteria.
Assessment: Students will be
graded on their Web site evaluation design and on the proper
application of this evaluation.
