Grade
Level: 12
Curriculum Area: Health IV
Internet Focus: Teleharvesting
Summary of Project: Students
will conduct an Internet search to find information about contraceptive
methods by utilizing the suggested Web sites listed below. They
may also conduct a search on their own to locate any other appropriate
sites. For each contraceptive method, students must answer the
following questions: What is it called? Is it used by males or
females? When properly used, how effective is it? How does it work?
What is the name of a specific brand? Students will then create a
chart or graph to compare the effectiveness of each
contraceptive. Last, they are to design an advertisement for one
contraceptive that makes reference as to why it is better than another
method. Specific facts must be presented.
Assessment:
Students will present
their charts or graphs, along with their advertisements while providing
a brief explanation to the class. Each student will receive a
grade for this presentation and for the designs of the advertisement
and chart or graph.
