Day 01 : JAYAPURA - ARRIVAL (L,D)
Arrive at Sentani airport of Jayapura, you
will be met by our local representative who will assist you with the travel
permit and connect with the flight to Wamena on Merpati scheduled to leave
at 1030am. Upon arrival at Wamena airport, transfer to Baliem Pilamo Hotel
for your accommodation.
The proceed with a visit to the local market in
town and lunch at local restaurant. Afternoon visit the Dani traditional
villages in the Baliem Valley and Dani Museum at Wesaput. Dinner and overnight
at hotel.
Day 02 : WAMENA - IBIROMA
(BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to Sogokmo then
walk for 2 hours to Kurima for traveling permit report, continue to Ibiroma
village another 3 hours hike up. Lunch box provided. In the afternoon see
the activities of Danis in their huts. Dinner and overnight stay at local
guest house.
Day 03 : IBIROMA - TANGMA
(BLD)
Breakfast, then trek 30 minutes down to Wesangma
village and then another 1,5hours trek through a small forest down to Tangma
village. Arrive in Tangma, explore the village and its community. Provided
lunch serve at the teacher's house where we overnight stay. The rest of
the day is spent to explore and experience more of the local people daily
life activities.
Day 04 : TANGMA - WANEM
(BLD)
Breakfast, from Tangma in the bottom of a
small narrow valley, we hike 2,5 hours up to the village of Wanem and enjoy
the beautiful panoramic view in the Baliem gorge. Arrive in Wanem, lunch
will be provided by our cook while we walk to the houses of the nearest
compound. Afternoon, we walk 1 hours to another village and view more of
the Dani daily life activities. Dinner and overnight at the head of the
village house in Wanem
Day 05 : WANEM - KURIMA - WAMENA - JIWIKA
(BLD)
Breakfast, then trek about 45 minutes down
to Kurima with a brief stop at the local market for a fresh fruit and soft
drink at the small trader's store. From Kurima we continue to Yetni River
for approx. 45 minutes, then drive to Wamena. After lunch at the local
restaurant in town, we continue to Jiwika by car, visit the village of
Sumpaima and view the 250 years old mummy, and experience the traditional
Dani ritual and festival by viewing the Kayo dance and Pig feast in Anemoigi
village near Sumpaima. Here you will learn many things from the local people
and your may try your chance to interact with locals. In the afternoon
we drive back to Wamena, dinner at local restaurant in town and accommodation
at Baliem Pilamo Hotel.
Day 06 : WAMENA - JAYAPURA
(BLD)
Breakfast at hotel, transfer to the airport
for your flight leaving for Jayapura. Upon arrival, proceed with a sightseeing
to see the Mc. Arthur memorial. Sentani lake boat excursion and Hamadi
Market. Lunch served at local restaurant. Overnight stay at Matoa Hotel.
Day 07 : DEPARTURE (B)
After breakfast at your hotel, transfer to
the airport leaving Jayapura for the next destination.
