| Tea in a Tea Pot (One-half inch scale) (3 tandem photos) This was a club project although everyone had their own individual decor and themes. The chairs were a gift to me. I made the table, fireplace, plant and standing screen. The exterior is covered with Mary Engelbreit gift tissue paper. |
| Hallmark Ornaments Christmas Scene (1/4 inch scale) I've been collecting Hallmark buildings for years and I set this up in our wall unit opening complete with a walkway and ice skating rink, using "railroad skaters and people". I use a "railroad" scene as a back drop. |
| Whiskey Box Apartment (1/4 inch scale) (3 photos) A wooden Canadian whiskey box find at a rummage sale for 10 cents made me think of a stretched-out apartment immediately. I used the plastic 1/4 inch furniture found at mini shops and I made the living room chairs and fireplace from kits. I designed and made the bed, dressing table and bench and hope chest. The box has a lid, which slides in a groove to cover the opening. |
| One-half inch scale Music Room (3 Views) The harpsichord, bench and grandfather clock were made by Susan Hoeltge. The sofa and chairs by Ginnie Okrasinski. The flowers in the pot behind the bench are by Nancy VanDeLoo (Nancy's Mini Shoppe) The tables I made from kits and one was purchased. I made the rose chair in the foreground from scratch as well as the corner plant. |

| Just Desserts (1/4 " Scale) (2 views) The building was a class at a NAME Houseparty. There was no room for a kitchen, so I added an "out building", where the baking is done, which also serves as a kitchen for the proprietor, who lives on the 2nd. floor. The sofa-bed is where she sleeps. You have to imagine an outside staircase to the 2nd. floor. I have since added a Gail Morrey dog out on the front boards. |
| 1/2 Inch Bedroom Hat Box Our small scale club worked on d. Anne Ruff's Hat Box Kits in both 1/2 and 1/4 inch scales. Some day, I just might finish the cover, but it is still in "limbo". I also need to finish the 1/4 inch bedroom and cover. So many minis and so little time!!!!.. |
| 1/4 inch Picnic Another small scale club project, which we worked on individually after the openings were cut by a member's D.H. The toys in the foreground are by Dean Jensen & the hat by Marge Smith. We made the picnic tables and food. Although I'm NOT a painter per se, I painted the upper area of the box to blend with the calendar picture & did the landscaping. |
| SNOW BABIES The "hill" was another club project that we carved out of foam. All of the procelain babies playing in the front are a gift from a friend, Hazel Hoyt, who made them. The babies in the back are Studio 56 Snow Babies, which I purchased to complete the scene. |
| 1/2 INCH CHRISTMAS ROOM This room was created when our 12 member small scale mini club chose to exhibit the 12 months of the year at the Chicago NAME National Houseparty. Since Christmas is my favorite holiday, I chose December. The love seat, chair & ottoman I made from d. Anne Ruff kits. She has always been one of my idols. I made the tree, tables, fireplace, all decorations & mini wall hanging over the love seat. The little dog eyeing the food on the table is by Gail Morrey. |
| 1/4 Inch Tea Cup This is an antique one-of-a-kind tea cup from my Mother's collection so I turned it into a mini scene. |
| FOUR 1/4INCH HEART BOXES Still another small scale club project that we all worked on individually. I used the papier mache boxes and decorated them. These appeared in a "Nutshell News" issue as a "How To" project, which Mary Haworth and I wrote. |
