THE POTTING SHED & GREENHOUSE (4 photos) This structure was a project we did at the annual Retreat Into Miniatures in West Bend, Wisconsin. The director's chairs are commercial, the bluejay on the roof is by Carol Kubesh and the flowers are a combination of commercial ones, cut apart, real dried ones and some made by me of punched paper.
THE ADOBE PATIO (4 photos) The adobe patio was another Retreat Into Miniatures project with many of the items made by the gift committee and attendees. My sister and I had fun painting some of the terra cotta pots with Indian designs and the round table and benches were a purchase I made years ago and, as often happens, finally found the perfect place for them. Part of the hanging pinata and a God's Eye, both made by me, can be seen in the windows. The high leather boots were made by Jackie Ryan.
Peddler Doll and Wagon (3 Photos) The wagon was a contest item we had to assemble & could use any way we wished. The doll was made for me by Delores Coles. She has a "ticked off" expression on her face and her knuckles on her hips, so I placed a cardinal by Carol Kubesh on the awning to indicate that the bird had startled the lady causing her to bump her basket of eggs, breaking two of them on the bricks. I made the oranges and grapefruit in the blue basket; the other produce was purchased.

Bedroom with Recessed Bed (2 Views) This was another of our Friday night Retreat projects based on a picture in a Kim Jacobs book. At the foot of the bed is a shelf with books and bric-a-brac. The blue velvet chair is by Susan Hoeltge, the half round card table was an Xacto kit. I made the draperies with a d. Anne Ruff pleater and I dressed the bed.

Miniaturist's Work Bench This was a Friday night project at RIM and we all adored the concept. We received many of the accessory items. I added others plus the mini house, which I made from a kit. What a unique project!
One of Imelda's Closets (2 views) This was a Retreat Contest Item. We were sent a wooden closet with bi-fold doors. I hit on the idea of doing one of her many shoe closets and had a ball decorating all of the metal mini shoes in the four styles available to try to make them look different. There is one pair of glass slippers in there that I purchased.

Recessed Bed - Guest Room This was another of our Retreat projects based on a picture from a Kim Jacobs calendar book. At the foot of the bed is a shelf with books and bric-a-brac, not visable in these photos. The blue velvet chair is by Susan Hoeltge, and half-round "card table" is an Xacto kit. I made the draperies from a d. Anne Ruff pleater, made the pillows and dressed the bed. The pillow on the chair is petit point by Marion Nuernberg and was a gift to me. I could occupy this room very happily.
