Animals

Animals are a lot of fun to carve.  They require a lot of detail to get the fir and face correct.  I like to use pictures and 3D Go-bys and get the most realistic animal I can.  Wood burning is essential unless you are doing a stylized version.  There are several methods of burning fir.  Both have their advantages and both look great when done well.
