This wolf was carved from a band sawed basswood block. Below, the fir burning is the "Y" style which covers less than 10% of the surface, but gives a good representation of fir. It is finished in acrylics, covered with an antiquing solution, and finished with three coats of Deft Wood Sealer, bagged between coats.
