The coon was carved from a basswood rough out in a seminar by Debbie Edwards, held in St. Peters Cultural Arts Center, May 1998. It is mounted on a Walnut base. The fir burning is the "Y shape" style taught by Debbie. The burning covers less than 10% of the surface, giving a good representation of fir. It also produces a very realistic bark on the stump. It is finished in acrylics, covered with an antiquing solution, and finished with three coats of Deft Wood Sealer, bagged between coats.
