I started writing poetry back in highschool. It was only meant to impress a girlfriend at first, but after a while, poetry has become a medium of expression for me. As Kahlil Gibran wrote in Sand and Foam:
"Poetry is an opinion expressed, it is a song that rises from a bleeding wound or a smiling mouth."
