the other side of me

a new morning like any other
the moon has sunk even further
light extends like pointed dagger
quenched stars to shine no longer

i looked at the bathroom mirror
saw the same person i am before
eyes more black than misty brown
a nose not tall nor nearly drawn
my hair's black and slighty waves
brows that meets yet not so vague
lips more used to a meager smile
a chin that shows no hidden guile

though everything was but ordinary
something's made me feel a bit wary
i looked closer at my reflection
there is a rather odd distinction

deeper i looked, deeper i see
someone's on the other side of me
eyes that reveals much love and more
nose that suggests what beauty's for
hair that flows like black waterfall
brows that curves with a gentle roll
tender lips like blossomed flowers
and a chin of beauty like no other

i saw myself yet i saw another
a familiar face i knew all the better
it was not surprising for me to see
that you are on the other side of me
