a road back home

one saturday night
on the road i freely roam
a sudden fright
it was the way back home
the chilly wind
a breath upon my spine
force to rescind
memories that's been confined

why am here
a question i ask the air
isn't it clear
a whisper of a silent dare
truth be known
i don't ever want to be back
reality as shown
i fear this all familiar track

sight to behold
you at the end of that road
feelings of old
returning like an undying ode
standing here alone
i have to decide on my own
road back home
it waits for me to walk by on
