Jo is from the gang-infested planet of Rimbor. He grew up on the streets and was a member of a gang called the Emerald Dragons. After being swallowed by a space-whale and emerging with his powers, he joined McCauley's Work Force and eventually met the Legion. Jo joined the Legion after the White Triangle seemingly killed his girl-friend Tinya Wazzo. He has since married Tinya, much to the chagrin of her mother, and has a son with her.
Jo has enhanced strength or speed, flight, vision powers or invulnerability, but can only access one power at a time.
Jo was among the group of Legionnaires that was "Lost" in an uncharted galaxy for a year. Saturn Girl created a mental projection of Tinya to prevent him from panicking and their relationship has become complicated as a result, especially with Saturn Girl's loss of Live Wire. |
