Switchfoot's career has blown up in the past two years. With the release of The Beautiful Letdown in 2003, Their song Meant To Live hit both the Christian and mainstream charts in full force. The song hit #1 on nearly every chart conceivable (it honestly would not have been a surprise to see it chart on the CHR/Rhythmic charts...that's how many charts it was on). But how to follow up a song that got so much play? With this one. Dare You To Move debuted on the chart the week of March 31. In its 10th week on the chart, it hit #1, and it would spend four consecutive weeks in that spot. In all, it would spend 25 weeks on the chart, more than any other song that charted this year. And while it has left this chart, it is still climbing up the mainstream AC and CHR charts and will likely hit #1 sometime next year. It is no wonder, then, that this song is the top song of the year on this chart. It is, quite simply, an amazing song, and it is #1 on this year's chart. Congratulations to the boys of Switchfoot.
